Swatch & Review: Illamasqua’s Aorta

This is my first Illamasqua polish!  I’ve been wanting Scorn and Jo’Mina for a long time, but when I saw this at my Sephora I decided I needed it ASAP.  And I’m glad I picked it up because this polish is phenomenal.

Aorta is a bright red polish with what Illamasqua describes as a rubber finish.  It’s part of their limited edition set of “Rubber Brights.”  In certain lights, this polish has a bit more of a true matte finish to it but it’s not that noticeable.  The above picture is two coats taken on a cloudy day.

I love this polish.  Didn’t stain, dry time was pretty good, and all the colors in this collection are fantastic and I think I might have to get all of them.  (Except the pink, I’m not much of a pink person.)

Close up on the rubbery texture - so nice!

The Rubber Brights collection is available at Sephora now.  I’m not sure how long it will stick around, but they have some nice fall colors on their website with this finish too and I remember the NARS limited edition collection being there for at least a month so you’ve got a bit of time.

Aorta is available at Sephora or sephora.com for $14.
